Renovating Our Pop Up Boutique - Tallie Trailer

If you have been following our socials, then you may have seen our posts about purchasing a horse box trailer, which needed some TLC. Now instead of the conventional 'we are getting a pony' hence the purchase kind of conversations, we were met with ' what the....?' faces, when I stated my true reason. The horse box (which I have named Tallie Trailer because she really is a big part of the family, living on our driveway and as blue as The Tardis and very hard to miss - I bet she's even on google maps on our street view), is in fact going to become my own portable pop up boutique!
So where did this idea begin?!
After disaster struck at a Christmas event where we arrived to our pitch and our gazebo had blown away in a freak storm and was mangled beneath an oak tree, this set me into motion. We needed something weather and stress proof, an actual display that was consistent and made us stand out.
In March 2024, Andy was on a night shift and really I shouldn't be left unattended on my own, because my thoughts shift into madness and impulsive buying! £800 later on a bidding war on Ebay and the trailer was all mine, I just had to get it home first!
I have seen so many wonderful conversions that have become coffee cafes, tipsy drink stations and food trucks, so thought why not one for home decor?!
I need a work-space (to save my sanity and kitchen work-tops) and a place where I can display products beautifully. Also, my dream of a bricks and mortar shop just seems like years away, given the current economic climate. So why not a boutique that we can take on the road to so many events and locations?!
SO here we are two years later and we have stripped and repaired every element and now ready for the repaint and re-fit. I can't wait for it to become everything I have hoped for.
I will keep you updated with the finish this summer!
